Continuing growth within the production team and ongoing project award, has created this exceptional opportunity with our clients global interior fit out company. This firm provide bespoke fitout services to the leisure and hotel sector and now seek a Production Manager to plan, prepare and produce all joinery items for their client’s projects. These projects comprise super yachts and five star hotels with production facilities of 4 factories covering 300,000 sq.m. with over 1,000 tradesmen.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the responsibilities of this role are to:

• Manage and instruct the workforce for allocated works to meet defined time schedules and quality.
• Review work performance of production team and identify training needs.
• Ensure and maintain full compliance for specified contracts and / or scopes of work.
• Monitor the manpower budget, planning of the allocated manpower loading, in accordance with project requirements.
• Work with the Project Manager in preparing and submit for consideration all material samples and specifications in accordance with the contract and company’s policies and procedures
• Monitor the Project Scope, ensuring that any on-site variation requests are reported and managed in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Oversee any on-site production and installation, including the protection of installed items from damage. Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
• Implement and maintain an Occupational Health and Safety plan when on site, complete with all the necessary documentation as per company policies and procedures.
• Maintain and record all project correspondence.
• Liaise with the Paint, Upholstery and Metal Factory Managers regarding the project as well as the Design, Cutlist, Planning, Procurement and Commercial departments regarding the project.
• To liaise with the Stores manager regarding incoming stock, stock levels and stock required for production.
• Liaise with the Logistics department for all issues relating to production and packaging for shipment.
• Advise, check and maintain adequate stock levels for production requirements.
• Attend weekly engineering and production meetings.
• Conduct daily meeting with the Production Supervisors and Team Leaders.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production problems.
• Consistently keep abreast of market trends and construction methods.
• Advise on Timber selection and attend timber suppliers facilities for the pre purchase inspections of raw materials.
• Estimating cost and setting quality standards. Monitoring product standards and implementing quality control programs

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this successful candidate include:

• In depth knowledge of all aspects of modern joinery manufacturing with a working knowledge of all aspects of furniture construction including cabinets, furniture, wall panelling systems, doors, mouldings etc, pertaining to the Super Yacht and marine environment.
• Fully conversant with all types of manual wood working machinery with experience with all types of wood working CNC machinery and associated programs.
• Strong leadership abilities as a Manager with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
