Production Planner

Job description / Role

The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring the inventory norms, timely raw material procurement, planning monthly & daily production schedules in line with delivery requirement. Maintain compatibility matrix in warehouse, review inventory health and ensure controls. Coordinate with demand planning, customer service and plant for on time delivery. Must ensure compliance to SHE, local regulations, company policies and coordinate with audit process.

Main Responsibilities:
- Maintaining planning information and MRP (stock replenishment level, forecast collection, ERP master data)
- Coordinate with the manufacturing/suppliers to make sure adequate inventory of the finished materials is available at any given time
- Timely transactions as required by MRP
- Coordination and setup of minimum balances for stock items compared sales forecast
- Timely response to customer orders.
- Generate and send replenishment orders to suppliers (external and internal) to maintain correct inventory level
- Generate and follow ERP process orders (manufacturing)
- Follow-up of replenishment PO: ensure its received on time (shipping date follow-up, custom clearance, etc)
- Transacting Purchase orders in ERP
- Monitoring supplier delivery performance
- Issuing delivery documentation and manage shipments
- Generation of monthly KPI: reporting and tracking
- Day to day stock control, including receipting, returned material, shipping, etc
- Customs clearance coordination and instructions.
- Track material usage history
- Achieve Inventory Turns targets while meeting OTD & OTC targets
- Based on the forecast from commercial team while optimizing inventory and demand
- Set optimum MRP parameters for the Plants & Warehouses especially the safety stock levels - optimizing around sales forecast, delivery-performance and inventory
- Drive continuous process improvements and changes around supply chain including planning, scheduling, inventory and Slow-moving & Non-moving while utilizing Lean methodology
- Set required operating rhythm to manage inventory targets, actual vs. target
- Coordinate with the logistics service providers for the shipment executions to meet the customer RDD
- Prepare the required shipping documents in line with the customs regulations & IMDG requirements

Requirements

- Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering or Chemistry
- Minimum 5 years in planning and operations out of which at least 1 year in a chemical environment
- Should have hands-on statistical knowledge will be of advantage
- Must have excellent English language and communication skills
- Must be an excellent team player
