Job description / Role
Your job will include, but not limited to the following:
Leads and oversees the duties carried out by staff within the Blending and filling section, performing supervisory functions at the level established by Management. Ensures that staff members work according set standards and procedures, the workplace is kept clean and tidy, and safety procedures are adhered to.
Assists the Lube & Grease Plant Department Manager in organising blending and filling schedules. Oversees the daily dip taking of the base oils and additives storage tanks by using the calibration record for each tank to check the volume and temperature. Calculates the correct quantity to ensure that there are sufficient materials available to meet requirements. Prepares the daily base oil and additives stock statement, showing the existing stock of bulk materials in each tank and the type of product. Submits statement weekly to the Department Manager.
Gathers daily production details and prepares blending reports, monthly stock statements and other reports as required, such as consumption of each ingredient. Assists the Lube & Grease Plant Dept. Manager in developing existing manual production reports, not covered by the information held in the system. Determines ways to automate the manual reports through liaison with the IT Department.
Supervises and oversees the withdrawal of base oils, additives and empty packages from the storage tanks and lubricant stores. Arranges and oversees the receipt, sampling and discharge of bulk liquid additives containers (BLC's) and ensures that delivery discharge is into the correct tanks. Checks the quantity and quality, of the goods received.
Ensures that the correct formulations are used for the blending of required grades, in accordance with set formulas, by comparing with the Quality Control Laboratory samples.
Supervises the withdrawal of samples of finished products from the kettles, and sends to the Laboratory for testing.
Arranges any necessary adjustments to be made, such as further blending. Arranges the re-blending of slow or non-moving lube grades by coordinating with the Laboratory and Quality Control.
Plans manpower distribution in lube blending and filling section accordingly to daily production schedules and ensures proper allocation to each section at the start of shift each day.
Coordinates with Planning Engineer to prepare and issue daily filling program in accordance with weekly production program provided by Planning Engineer.
Oversees duties of the Lube Supervisor - Filling, Senior Technicians, Technicians to ensure that the ISO9001-2008 quality control procedures are adhered to at all times.
Requirements
* Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
* 8-10Â years related experience.
* Good supervisory skills.
* Computer literate, with knowledge of Windows, MS Office, Â E-mail, Internet and Intranet.
* Good knowledge of spoken English and Arabic, with written English.
* Valid UAE Drivers License.
