Production Supervisor

Job description / Role

In this role, you would be responsible for the efficient operation of all production departments and for the quality and accuracy of daily production, packing and shipping activities. Taking a hands-on approach, and leading from the front, you would manage, coach and mentor employees whilst also assisting in developing team members further in their skill sets and printing experience.

Job Duties:-
Safety first and compliant working within occupational health and safety regulations as well as company policies, procedures etc.
Troubleshooting production, equipment and technical issues
Optimizing production and print schedules
Being the first point of contact for issue and complaint resolution with staff, customers and internal departments
Driving productivity as well as reducing wastage and quality defects
Assisting the Production Manager with employee and HR issues including: Time & Attendance, Grievances, Discipline, Training, Recruitment etc
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, safety and quality
Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques

Requirements

- Results and Metrics orientated
- IT Literate and familiarity with scheduling software
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Print Technology and automation oriented
- Competent in SOP and Quality principles and practices
- Previous experience of managing employees in a commercial print operation with multiple section/department responsibilities
- Solid experience of print and bindery machinery including sheet fed presses, cutting/folding/stitching/mailing equipment
