JOB PURPOSE:
This position assumes responsibility for Product and Application Engineering within the Construction Equipment Division; and provides techno-commercial, sales related support to all the equipment Sales Team.

It also liaises with the Marketing & Services Manager in developing product related promotional strategies. Working closely with the Regional Manager, it collates and analyses reports including lost sales, market share, performance and others

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assumes responsibility for Application Engineering which mainly requires extensive on-site study / project evaluation
- In conjunction with respective Regional Manager, prepares tender proposals Imparts product based training to the sales team as and when required
- Acts as a focal point for all promotional activities within Equipment Sales Division
- Recommends to the Regional Manager specification for stock orders and order quantities
- Collates information on competition activities
- Supports the Sales team in preparing comparisons with competing products
- Receives all Train-the-Trainer product and application training from all principals; and then organize training sessions to all Sales Team

JOB CONTEXT:
- Conducts on - Site Simulation study along with respective Sales Engineer and prepares site simulation reports
- Studies and prepares tenders. This requires apprising the Regional Manager of any sensitive commercial terms, preparing the technical compliance statements and bid bonds as required
- In conjunction with the Regional Manager, prepares project based proposals (a project is defined as a project of large magnitude where more than one contractor is bidding)
- Where Sales Managers require pricing assistance (for specially configured products), prepares prices and specifications for such products. This may entail coordination with CE International Team / Principals
- Periodically prepares comparative analysis between various competitive equipment and provides to sales for their easy reference
- Maintains log of lost sales reports and uses these for developing pricing strategies. Collates other performance reports upon the request of the Regional Manager
- Periodically prepares stock order recommendations for the Regional Manager
- Sets the specification of all stock and forward orders being sent to the Principals. Checks order acknowledgement for accuracy
- Participates in all Product and Market Related Specifications (MRS) meeting with CE International Team / principals
- Ensures that flash reports provide accurate information and liaises with inventory / logistics department in case of inconsistencies
- Coordinates with Marketing Department to prepare & implement promotional plans. This includes organizing exhibitions, product launches, customer open house events, road shows, etc.
- Communicates with CE International team / principals on any sales related technical query
- Identifies training requirement for regional sales staff and imparts product trainings as and when there is a new product or if there is a general requirement
- Ensures that new joiners in the region receive a comprehensive product training and that they are properly registered with principals training packages (like Quick Track for Volvo Construction Equipment)
- Disseminates trainings received from Principals
- Ensures that agreed trainings are attended and completed by the nominated staff according to the given time scale
- Ensures that product catalogues and other printed material are current and in adequate supply. Maintains obsolete catalogues as future reference material
- Updates, when required the quotation formats with the latest equipment specifications which are being offered and prepares standard templates
- Conducts Market Surveys as per requirement (product diversification / intelligence)

Requirements

Minimum Experience:
- 2 to 3 year of relevant experience in Product Support

Application Job-Specific Skills:
- Experience within the construction equipment business
- Effective communicate abilities, including full English language proficiency Familiarity with CE industry & professional standards
- Awareness of Health, Safety & Environment standards and requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
