Job Description
* To provide support to the CRES Head of Operational Risk and the CRES Operational risk country teams to ensure that we continue to protect and enhance the control environment aligned with our strategic intent.
* To ensure the operational risk policies and procedures and the Risk Management Framework is effectively embedded and communicated across the Group.
* To ensure risks relating to CRES Risk Control Area; "Business Continuity" and Operational risk subtypes; Safety & "Security and Damage or Denial of Property Assets" and Health & Safety External Rules and Regulations are being actively controlled and reported across the Group on an end to end basis.
* Working with the Group Risk Management Team and other stakeholders, provide predictive quality analytics to support CRES decision making around the risk and control environment.
* Proactively scan the external horizon to identify potential risks that could impact Group operations.
* Analysing trends from Audits, Control Reviews and Root Cause Analysis to provide insight and direction for continuous improvement
* Working with our Strategic partners to ensure appropriate risk control and reporting across the partnerships and help coordinate improvements and efficiencies.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Assist the alignment of the operational risk management approach across CRES to the Risk Management Framework and work with country to ensure effective and consistent implementation.
* Oversee the implementation of the ORF to countries, ensuring a consistent approach, and working with the CRES teams to ensure appropriate data is provided in a consistent and timely manner supporting the control environment.
* Provide support to countries not under ORF to ensure risks are suitably identified, assessed, controlled or mitigated and residual risks are maintained within the risk appetite and control data is provided to Head of CRES Operational Risk.
* Work with countries to ensure all CRES staff, including service partners are full conversant with the roles and responsibilities under the ORF and their duties as 1st line of defence.
* To develop and maintain the CRES risk management information from countries relating to control effectiveness and provide regular reports to CRES Head of Operational Risk for review at the Group CRES Risk Committee and CRES PGC.
* Help develop and maintain CRES technology systems and MIS to support operational risk reporting
* Help develop and maintain programs for continual development of capabilities, skills and infrastructure to meet ongoing business needs and plans
* Ensure all changes to operational risk impacting CRES communities is effectively communicated and suitable records maintained.
* Monitor trends in the control environment and work with process owners to ensure management information on the control environment is used to ensure continual improvement of process and workflow.
* Carry out independent assurance checks on CRES data to ensure process and controls are being implemented effectively.
* Ensure that CRES specialist functions have in place effective management plans to manage the risk control areas assigned to them (Security, H&S, BCM, Property Management)
* Help maintain Group level policies and procedures.
* Work with countries to ensure consistent quality of all Group risk acceptance templates and ensure there preparation is managed in order to escalate risk to the appropriate risk committees.
* Ensure Root Cause Analysis reports are provided within the appropriate timelines and quality to the Head of CRES Operational Risk for presentation to the appropriate governance committee.
* Learning's from audits and control reviews are trended, communicated and where necessary embedded into process and reported to the appropriate CRES committee.
* Periodically review operational risk assessments to ensure these appropriately reflect changes in environment, mitigating controls and the progress of treatment plans.
* Help coordinate the classification and accurate reporting of CRES operational risk and losses from Country to Group.
* Contribute to the development of performance management processes in order to encourage the development of an appropriate risk culture and discipline in CRES

Requirements

* Exemplary analytical skills and a proactive, problem solving approach
* Operational risk management experience, preferably in banking or real estate industry
* Excellent (verbal & written) communication and influencing skills, combined with a proven ability to effectively challenge and the ability to manage internal projects
* Solid understanding of Banking Operations and the Regulatory requirements governing Banking Operations
* Solid understanding of the risk technological infrastructure and applications used in the Bank including Phoenix, Optial & Knox
* Solid understanding of the Operational Risk Management Framework
* An aptitude to acquire professional knowledge and educational accreditation in related fields
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build core working relationships with stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and with a high degree of quality and initiative
* The confidence to challenge stakeholders on data quality and reporting deadlines
* Good relationship. Stakeholder management and program management skills.
* Good understanding of continuous improvement methodology would be desirable
* Advanced MS Excel skills and Microsoft powerpoint
* An appropriate qualification in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Engineering, or other real estate related discipline preferred
