Job description / Role
Main Purpose of the Job:
As a Project Accountant you will support the business across a number of active projects within your defined region interfacing with Heads of Client service to ensure delivery against projected financial performance
Project profitability analysis – actual / budget / forecast
Work In Progress calculation at the month end
Monitoring of costs charged to projects to ensure accuracy
Working with service leaders to ensure accurate project reporting
Monitoring revenue recognition to ensure in line with IFRS
Project related accruals
Issuance of sales invoice and verification to contract
Order book and pipeline analysis & reporting
Maintenance of Sales Ledger
Credit control – documentation and management of credit control
Support FC in preparing / reviewing Mgmt Information packs for the location
Participate in the budgeting / forecasting process
Involved in Bid reviews to ensure fee proposals are acceptable from a financial perspective
Dealing with auditors for AR and revenue related issues
Requirements
• Candidate should be part/qualified in management accounting body CIMA/CMA
• Previously worked within a professional service based organisation would be advantageous
• Very strong excel skills with a working knowledge of pivot tables/formulas
• Thorough understanding of the complete project accounting life cycle
• Able to communicate with stake holders of all levels with the appropriate gravitas expected in a professional services business
• Strong analytical skills to be able to interpret data and convey the commercial message
• Commercially aware
• Must be able to understand underlying commercial arrangements of contracts
• Confident and self-assured to be able deal with senior project leaders
• Excellent communication and literacy skills
• Comfortable working with a variety of IT applications
