Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position will acquire and analyze project data to ensure projects meet cost and schedule requirements. In addition, the position will supervise an estimator, scheduler, and cost analyst.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:
- Assist with, review and audit detailed project schedules
- Incorporate project schedules into resource loaded master milestone schedule; review manpower needs
- Assist with, review and audit project cost estimates
- Monitoring cost and commitment through requisition and invoice review in SAP
- Develop and analyze standard project reports in SAP
- Develop and monitor project and capital budget forecasts on a monthly basis
- Manage and update the Project Data Base
- Produce metrics and reports to track resource utilization and spending
- Enter and track all capital / expense projects & DWR in project data base
- Create all projects in SAP
- Review project closure documents to ensure all data is issued to the vault
- Acquire weekly updates from PEs and create / distribute a monthly Project Engineering Status Report
- Support yearly capital budget process
- Review and analyze the contractors estimates and schedules.
- Assist with creating project procedures

Requirements

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- At least 10 years of project controls experience at a chemical plant or refinery or on a major capital project.
- Experience in SAP, scheduling, project controls, and cost estimation is required
- Commitment to safety along with strong leadership and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplined teams is required.
- Self-starter with above average presentation, planning, communications, interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of industry design codes and practices.
- This position requires good written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Experience with CPDEP or other gated project management process is highly desirable.
