Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Essentially the role will encompass the following objectives;

• Establish Project Controls within the Operational Office
• Develop a local presence and the Project Controls capability
• Develop a knowledge of the local market
• Develop an execution approach/strategy in conjunction with the Business Unit and Operations objectives
• Liaise and interface with Government bodies, Clients and Suppliers
• All Project Controls functions
• Work with the Business Units on various bids and proposals
• Develop the capability to deliver Projects

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• All Project Control functions on the project as further noted below.

During the office establishment and setup phase, the responsibilities will be delivered by the individual, although as the office develops this will evolve into the supervision and direction of the Planning, Cost Control, Risk and Estimating personnel. The candidate is responsible for the following activities:

• Controlling and directing the project controls activities at the work location
• Producing and maintaining the Project Control Procedures applicable to the scope of work in that particular Work Location whilst still underpinning the Regional procedures
• Ensuring that project schedules are prepared such that they define and communicate the plan required to meet project objectives
• Producing Forecasts and mitigation strategies
• Monitoring schedule and cost performance against the project objectives
• Providing analysis of trends and deviation in schedule and cost from the established baselines
• Managing project changes and risk assessments effecting economic, schedule, or business decisions
• Development and execution of Project Control plans & detailed work processes
• Review of proposed deviations from the Execution Plans & deliverables
• Production of monthly and mid-monthly client reports, internal reports and ad hoc reports, as required
• Providing estimate updates, associated cost and schedule risk analyses and benchmarking data in accordance with an agreed update cycle
• In conjunction with the Project Quality Assurance team undertaking internal project control assessment reviews and audits
• Providing data and support to external audit teams

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• English as a second business language is essential
• Knowledge within an Engineering discipline and/or Construction environment is desirable

Successful candidates will be required to attend the London Offices for a period of time in order to become familiar with internal policy, systems, procedures and best practice, prior to returning to Iraq for duty. The role will potentially require visits to various site locations as required and also an element of International travel in line with the Operational requirements
