About the Business Description and Desired Qualifications Project / business overview The project is phase 1 of a 6 year plan to upgrade staff accommodation. Phase 1 consists of 241 residential units comprising apartments and villas, a mosque, playing field, changing rooms, associated infrastructure and landscaping. The total built up area is in the region of 70,000sqm. The development will be of a high quality and construction will be cognisant of the exposed location and long term commitment that the PDO has to the maintenance of the built elements. Some demolition of existing villas will be necessary in order to provide a platform for the new build. Key role objective The principal function of this position is: Supervision of contractor Monitoring contractor's progress and reporting to client Anticipation and warning on issues which may impact on targeted time or cost outcomes Monitor the contractor's monthly payment applications and report with recommendations to client Monitor the approved construction programme and ensure that the contractor is completing the works in accordance with the schedule Assist RE in managing the process of changes Evaluation of the cost and time impacts of changes and variations Key areas of responsibility The priorities of this role include: Liaison with the client, contractor and design consultant representatives, providing the single line of communication between the client and contractor Responsible for delivery of the project to time, budget and quality constraints Assistance in preparation of daily, weekly and monthly progress reports |
