Position Summary:

This position will champion the project controls efforts for assigned project work at S-Chem’s Jubail facility located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The successful Project Controls Professional candidate will have a direct impact on cost and schedule performance for a portfolio of projects to be executed at our site. This job works as part of a project team that may be comprised of Operations, EPC Contractors, Process Engineers, Process Control, Maintenance, Reliability, and various third party contractors to optimize and assure successful execution of assigned project work.

Promotes proactive safety, seeks out "at risk" behaviors'' & conditions in order to achieve the overall goal of zero incidents in alignment with the Tenets of Operation, and in support for achieving Operational Excellence (OE) Compliance.

Key Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with EPC contractor project controls personnel to ensure proper processes and procedures are in place to accurately track project work duration and cost.
• Reviews trend analyses, budget updates, and recommendations for corrective action to assure compliance with company requirements.
• Ensures the detailed master project schedule is built using proven project controls methods (logic driven, detailed, resource loaded, etc.).
• Review and perform analysis on project cost and schedule to identify impact of progress and scope changes on previously scheduled target dates.
• Reviews and prepares various weekly and monthly cost control/performance measurement reports.
• Review contractor cost and cost flow reports and ensure contractor plans are realistic and achievable.
• Analyze progress, manpower and performance information to support effective project management.
• Work in close cooperation with Project Management insuring proactive direction is given to the contractor and reporting of deviations proactively to affected stakeholders.
• Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams.
• Ability to critically review EPC generated Project Schedules for realistic manpower loading, task duration, and overlap.
• Extensive construction field experience with determining construction progress, time to completion, and manpower loading. Experience on projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is preferred.

Requirements

• Engineering or similar technical degree and 5 + years of petrochemical plant project experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 + years of chemical plant project experience.
• Certified Project Professional preferred (PMP, CCP, PSP, etc.)
• Expertise and experience with petrochemical capital project and turnaround work.
• Familiar with Primavera, SAP and MS office software.
• Good communication skills, self-starter with solid planning and organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time, ability to resolve conflicts with other functional groups and reach agreements.
