Employment: Full Time

THE ROLE
Reports to and is responsible to the Programme Director for the delivery of a group of projects within a pre-defined area, on one of the world’s largest infrastructure programmes.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Single point of ownership and management for the delivery of a portfolio of projects, from concept design to asset handover, as part of the programme management consultant’s role on a major programme of highways and infrastructure development works. Total portfolio value is multi $billion.
• Day to day management of individual project Design Co-ordinators, Project Managers, Contracts personnel, Planners and Cost Engineers working within their Area, related to the phase of each project.
• Management of the Design and Supervision Consultants and the Construction Contractors within their portfolio, incl monitoring KPI’s and driving QHS&E requirements and to take appropriate action where improvements are required.
• Accountable for the following:
o Management of the Design Consultants on particular project issues
o Presentation of all engineering design material for Gateways and Main Road Projects Steering Committee Meetings
o All project approval requirements during the design life of the projects
• Interface with all disciplines of the programme management consultant team to meet the overall programme deliverables, including HSE, QA, engineering, project controls and commercial to ensure consistent performance and reporting across their portfolio, of a level that allows timely decisions to be made.
• Interface with client, all relevant Government Departments and Agencies, Design and Supervision Consultants and Construction Contractors to meet the individual project and the overall programme deliverables
• Be the point of contact for all projects within their Area that interface with projects within an adjacent Area
• Ensure that lessons learnt are applied across all projects in this Area.
• Accountable for all change within their Area and ensuring the correct process is followed throughout all phases of their projects.
• Ensure the required support is provided to facilitate the timely payment of invoices and resolution of variations and claims within their Area.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Experience of managing large infrastructure projects, in particular Highways projects
• Experience in managing a programme of major projects, preferably within the infrastructure sector, driving schedules, liaising with key stakeholders, managing high performing teams and relationship management
• 15 years post graduate experience
• BSc in related subject or equivalent experience
• Chartered or Professional Engineer
• Fluency in English language both written and spoken
• Arabic language skills desirable but not essential
• Experience use of MS Office.
