Project Development Manager - Hydropower Projects - Eastern Africa

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Project Development Manager to manage several hydropower projects for a leading international Power Energy company within their operations in East Africa. You would be working on projects which are not yet qualified enough to have their own project manager, as well as managing the project managers on established projects.

The successful Project Development Manager will be responsible a number of projects within Africa, and as such, a proven background in hydropower engineering is a must.

Responsibilities will include:
- Work on small local hydropower projects
- Maintenance of all plant equipment
- Working on turbines, trash racks, valves, cranes and all mechanical machinery associated with a Hydro-Electric Dams and Powerhouses.
- Working alongside and teaching local staff
- Dealing EPC contractors, IPP bidding projects, PPA negotiations and project development in general
- Management of contractors on site
- Balancing of the profit and loss accounts

Requirements

- Must have at least 5 years experience with hydro and wind projects
- Experience project managing a project from development to finalization stage.
- Previous financial management experience.
- Management experience in Africa is very beneficial
- Fluency in English is a must
