With registered companies in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, this makes us one of the strongest international construction consultancies in the region.

Due to continued success in the country we are now seeking an experienced Project Director to join our already established team in Qatar.

As part of our Middle East business strategy, we are currently looking for experienced Project Directors (Major Projects) to join our team. Experience of delivering complex projects; with a speciality in ether hospitality, theme parks or exclusive hotels is essential.

Drawing on your construction expertise and delivery of major projects, you will be responsible for monitoring the project direction and coordinating throughout all project life-cycles and final handover to the client.

Core Responsibilities
- Develop the strategy and execution plan and deliver the winning bid on large capital projects
- Negotiate contract terms with the client
- Deliver on all technical and commercial aspects of the project as per the contract requirements
- Manage the client relationship and key stakeholders
- Business development to ensure repeat business
- Deliver the financial objectives for the programme
- Manage all programme risk and contingencies
- Ensure compliance with the Faithful+Gould Business Management System
- Direct staff and resources to meet programme delivery requirements

Relationships
- Provide the principal point of contact with the clients senior representatives for the delivery of project services
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with relevant project, technical, financial and commercial staff
- Develop close working relationships with other Faithful+Gould business heads, locally and internationally
- Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the region and internationally to maximize the cost base and technical delivery capability
- Support the Project Manager in the resolution of problems

Responsibilities
- Full Programme Management duties
- Ensuring implementation and compliance with the Integrated Management System
- Provision of pre and post contract project control and responsibility
- Staff structure and formal routes of reporting
- Staff development appraisals
- Planning, organisation and control
- Monitoring all work executed, at all stages, to ensure that an accurate and professional service is offered to clients
- Guidance of team members in technical and contractual obligations and duties
- Professional interface with other disciplines and the clients representative
- To ensure the high quality and timeliness of service delivery to clients
- Representation of the team
- To provide full efficient and effective services in all technical and contractual aspects of professional practice
- Preparation of fee proposals and submissions (when required)
- Effective and efficient administration and ownership of project fee accounts
- Service delivery to clients and act as primary interface, ensuring Faithful+Gould secure the clients confidence
- Effective management of internal job costing in relation to the fee and services to be provided and of resource requirements

Requirements

- Western educated; minimum of a Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, from a reputable university
- Chartered Member or Fellow with a western recognised institute (to include but not necessarily be limited to APM, ICE, RICS, CIOB, AIA and RIBA).
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant project/programme management experience
- Experience of leading a business and having responsibility for a P&L account
- Recent experience working on large scale hospitality or theme parks construction projects in the Middle East.
- Proven success in the delivery of large capital projects within scope, time and budget
- Experience in the planning, managing and successfully delivering on projects involving numerous stakeholders
- Effective IT and communication skills in report writing, presentations and holding effective conversations
- Ability to influence for results
- Proven ability to lead, organize and direct large multi-national organization
- Middle East experience, with a preference to Qatar experience
