Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for preparation of layouts in Autocad, costing, accompanying sales on client visits, value engineering and management during project execution of large and complex projects. The incumbent will be working in the Storage and Handling Solutions (SHS) Division of FAMCO, UAE and dealing with the requirements of the Racking & Shelving and Doors & Docking Equipment departments.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide full design, costing and technical support to the SHS sales team, maintaining best practice design standards, supported by efficient, effective and economical project solutions.
* Prepare detailed design layouts in AutoCAD in response to information and specifications provided by the concerned sales person.
* Ensure proposed designs comply and align with Principal manufacturer's specification and design parameters.
* Prepare detailed costing for each project with respect to materials, transportation, duty, installation and local fabrication.
* Accompany sales on client visits and provide technical support to ensure customer needs are interpreted accurately into detailed design solutions.
* Provide value engineering to both potential and secured projects to maximise project profitability.
* Manage large and complex projects during execution stage.
* Gather, share and analyse market information on competitor activities and incorporate into design solutions.
Requirements
You must have the following:
* A degree holder in Engineering preferably Civil OR Mechanical from a recognised University.
* 5 years UAE experience as a Project Engineer within the same industry or in s similar field.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Fluency in oral and written English.
* Excellent IT skills with essential AUTOCAD and MS Office and related software.
* Sound knowledge in Design, engineering, costing and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards.
* Knowledge of relevant International Standards & local regulations.
* Ability to communicate and interact with key clients at a higher management level.
* Ability to simultaneously manage several projects.
