Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed as a Consulting Engineer by Mazoon Electricity Company (MZEC) in Oman to perform the consultancy services for three years for reviewing, designing, monitoring and supervising the construction of primary substations, 33&11 KV OHL and U/G line works, distribution substation and also associated gird stations.
Due to this we are currently looking to recruit Project Engineers - Electrical (Execution Major Projects)
.The role will be based in Muscat and will need to travel to the various sites in Oman.

Responsibilities:
Proiect Engineer (Execution)
1) Management of electrical activities for the substation construction and coordination between contractor and his subcontractor for the electrical construction/installation.
2) Coordination with any other consultant appointed by the client or any other ministry regarding engineering matters related to the works
3) Review and approve the construction program of the electrical works submitted by the contractor and coordinate with the civil engineers to comply the requirements.
4) Review and approve the general drawings and engineering calculations submitted by contractor within the described time in the tender and advise the contractor if any modification required.
5) Provide assistance to finalize any outstanding issues related to approval, construction of existing construction stations.
6) Ensure and inspect the materials delivered at site and materials handed over to MZEC store.
7) Issue instructions to the contractor and supervise the execution of the works in accordance with tender specification.
8) Supervise the project during all stages of construction and maintenance during guarantee period.
9) Issue weekly and monthly progress reports and other technical financial reports associated with the works.
10) Review contractors claim for variation works or extension of time and submit relevant reports
11) Attend progress meetings as and when required to review progress and identify problems, if any.
12) On completion of the works, review the as built drawings in accordance with the changes agreed during construction stage and submit two sets of as built drawings to the client.
13) Provide required assistance to the client during guarantee period of the project and follow up contractor's activities.
14) The consultant shall be fully responsible for implementation of safety issues as per MZEC safety rules and shall carry continuously monitoring during site activities to ensure the contractor is adhering to MZEC safety rules.
15) The consultant's engineer shall inform MZEC about need to issue variations or time extensions to the contractor in time. In each monthly meeting such issues shall be recorded and he/she shall be responsible to forward to MZEC with necessary recommendations during project period.
16) Carryout jointly on or behalf of client for inspection, testing, during manufacturing, engineering, erection, testing and commissioning and ensure completion of all punch list point if raised, categorically.
17) Identifying deliverables and creating WBS
18) Identifying the skills the activities needed to complete those deliverables & networking the activities in their logical sequence
19) Project correspondence, drawing submittal, review and reply to and from the contractor:
20) Clearance of snags and ensuring project closure in all respect, including as built approvals, certification and report on lesson learnt
21) Pre contract engineering services (tender evaluation and EPC contract awarding) 22) Study the Invoice forwarded by contractor & its certification
23) Auditing report for related works study and reply
24) All other works seen by the consultant necessary to complete the project will be part of consultant scope.
Requirements
- Should have minimum 5 yrs. experience in the similar field in which 2 year gulf countries preferable
- The knowledge in latest technology in project supervision
- Primary substation execution work experience
- Pre contract engineering services
- Good communication skills in English
- PMP certification, Primavera Knowledge
