Description of the role
A leading Freight Forwarding company is looking for a Project Logistics Director to be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
• Responsible for building and developing clients within the Oil + Gas, Industrial and EPC Industry. Initial target region for the UAE with growth to expand at a Regional level across the Middle East/ Europe and Asia.
• Identify and qualify potential sales leads and develop and maintain them so that there is a possibility of growing the business and a Sales Team.
• Effective planning/coordination, execution skills between clients, vendors, overseas offices/agents, transportation companies & various agencies involved in the supply chain.
• Should have managed at least one project valued around AED 500million as a general contract, including costing, quoting & executing the project
Requirements
Required candidate profile
• Must have a project oriented background
• Ideally a logistics background, however strong knowledge of basic logistics principles / activities is acceptable
• Knowledge of supply chain activities
• Knowledge of procurement activities
• Must have a track record of project management from inception through to completion
• Must have strong working knowledge of the Gulf region
• Must have been involved with international business activities, and strong knowledge of transaction involved with such
• Command of Arabic language an advantage but not a must
• Must have the ability to frequently travel regionally and internationally
• Ability to create / manage / complete projects of various nature
• Business development oriented
• Lean Methodology, 6 Sigma experience
• Proficient in project management timelines (MS Project)
• Logistics development experience, ways of improving our logistics services within the warehousing environment
• Ability to forecast, adapt and manage changing trends and requirements
• Minimizes the company’s risk and exposure on projects.
