Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The position will be responsible to manage and supervise the construction of academic related projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. In addition, the position will be part of the academic institute management member in order to provide ongoing operation and strategic support for the academic institute operators.
- Managing and supervising the project throughout its all phases including planning, designing, tendering, constructions, obtaining authorities approvals, etc.
- Developing budgets and understands overall project quality expectations.
- Providing project planning through identifying the organization business needs.
- Understanding of the construction business & the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Determining the scheduling of different phases of a project based on established deadlines.
- Negotiating contracts with consultants, designing architects, vendors, contractors and other workers.
- Securing of building permits and licenses as well as the delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites.
- Conferring with contractors to monitor construction progress, including productivity and compliance with building and safety codes.
- Providing regular reporting to the Chief Development Officer regarding project scope, milestones, progress, etc.
- Performing frequent and comprehensive reviews of project progress to check on progress of agreed plan, set, and monitors deliverable in line with UDC strategic and operational priorities.
- Reviewing the design of the school regular by actively engaging school operator prior to handover.
- Providing ongoing strategic and operation support to school operator to ensure smooth operation within the initial period of opening.
- Experience of establishing new schools; building, registration and operational set up
- Able to act as a credible and effective company representative in a range of professional environments including board meetings, C-Suite negotiation, conferences and any other professional and/or social setting required to support project completion.
- Able to support potential school operators with: legislative compliance, company registration, operations, recruitment,
- Awareness and experience of Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA)
- Coordinating linkages among marketing, sales, legal, and technical departments as required achieving business objectives.
- Taking a strategic view on business development by constantly networking and developing client relationships that can be leveraged for project completion.
- Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensuring that the project is executed as per Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) regulations and standard.
- Ensuring that all project phases are executed according to the company policy and regulations.
- Agreeing on project objectives and ensuring that they are met as per timeline approved by Management.
- Representing UDC and its stakeholders in government agencies relative to the execution of projects to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Carrying out of risk assessments and updating Management of such.
- Monitoring sub-contractors, if any, to ensure guidelines and project requirements are met.
- Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing.
- Undertaking any other duties that may be required as determined by the Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil or Architecture) with license as per related jurisdiction.
- Masters level in Engineering or Management is preferred.
- PMP certified are desirable.
- Proven team leadership in a Middle East, ideally in an educational projects
- Financial Planning skills
- Project Management & Project Planning Skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication in Arabic & English
- PM software proficient
- 10 - 15 years of experience with at least 5 years in project Management Level
- Must have an experience in school construction projects
