Project Manager CP6c (Utilities)

Job description / Role

* Responsible for monitoring and supervision of all activities related to an assigned infrastructure project to ensure the completion to cost and time schedules.

This will include the monitoring and endorsement of partner companies in relation to project management schedules, use of sub -contractors, and on-site construction engineering activities.
* Responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, status, deviations, changes and ensuring that the company is delivering projects to acceptable Lusail's standards.
* Endorsement and review of project budget(s) and has ultimate responsibility for the quality of project delivery and adherence to deadlines by partner companies.
* Is overall accountable with Zone Senior Project Manager for the approval for payments and reimbursements on all project related activity in accordance with contract terms and conditions.

The Project Manager will seek input from relevant Lusail personnel where appropriate, for example, project Construction Manager, project Contracts Managers, project Executive and project Design Manager etc. Payment and reimbursements will be forwarded to Controls Department for final payment or to Zone Senior Project Manager if any.
* Inspects and reviews current projects to monitor with construction and safety codes, and other regulations in coordination with the Quality, Safety and Environmental Department.
* Provides day-to-day direction and works with Lusail staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the Department's and Lusail's mission, strategic plan, objectives and values.
* Operates Lusail's personnel policies and procedures and performance management processes for project staff.
* Defines and communicates roles, responsibilities and authority to Lusail project team members, partners and contractor to ensure project completion in a safe manner, within budget, on schedule, and in conformance with the appropriate standards, specifications and applicable regulatory requirements.
* Directs the Construction Manager and project Executive to monitor and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems which have been escalated by PMCM, Construction Manager and project Executive.
* Reviews and recommends changes to contract based on the input of the Construction Manager and project Executive. This will include budget requirements, work progress; milestones achieved and recommend operational budgets, expenditure and claims.

Requirements

* A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related Engineering degree.
* Minimum 12 years of work experience in the engineering and construction field, of similar project out of which at 6 are in a project management capacity.

Further Qualification Required:
* Preferably member of a Professional Engineering Body, for example, Chartered engineer, professional engineer etc.
* Preferably member of a recognized project management body, for example, PMP, PMI or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of principles of capital improvement cost estimation and contract administration.
* Further Experience Required:
* Broad experience in construction sector with demonstrated experience in design aspects of Infrastructure projects such as highways, expressways, intersections, tunnels, water and Sewerage Treatment Plants.
* Experience in projects involving government departments and outsourced consultants is beneficial.
* Experience of managing high performing multi-disciplinary teams.
* Experience in managing, coordinating, and administering medium-size, complex, multi-function design projects.
* Experience in managing and controlling multi-million riyal budgets.
* Experience in all aspects of project management and project control activities.
* GCC or Qatar Experience is preferred.
