Project Manager (Food Logistics)

Salary package $150,000USD per annum
Based in Kazakhstan
You will be working for a long established global business that excels in the management of Supply Chain services for US Government related organisations.
They now require someone to be responsible for start-up and overall performance of their fresh foods and vegetable (FF&V) / Local Market Ready (LMR) project in Central Asia.
Candidates will have experience in large scale food distribution, preferably within remote and difficult locations, and ideally will have exposure to US Government, UN or other government end users. Experience in the Middle East, Central Asia or Africa would be an advantage.
Set up representative office
Recruiting and mobilization of the project support team
Manage subcontracted consolidation warehouse operations
Manage subcontracted freight service providers (Road/Air cargo)
Develop FF&V and LMR sourcing strategy
Set up supplier performance management system
Maintain In-Transit Visibility / Reporting
Develop food security measures
Ensure all company and US Government regulations are complied with
Oversee all aspects of Quality Assurance, Government Compliance and Health, Safety and Environment programs
Implement training program
Foster working environment that enhances company's core values
Communicates effectively in both English and Russian
Advanced Project Management knowledge/certifications
MBA or other advanced business degree strongly preferred
10 years in Program Management in logistics (Food)/defense industry
Working knowledge of military in transit tracking/reporting systems
Project management processes and procedures
Strong Logistics experience and knowledge
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
A strong leader with the ability to motivate, manage and inspire a team to achieve operational excellence
Has drive and resilience to cope with an intense working environment and demanding clients
Plans and executes
Organizational leadership skills to include people management/development, starting up organizations and recruiting
Computer literate Microsoft office skills
Knowledge of WMS
