Project Manager (Gas Turbine Power Plant) - Yamama Project Directorate

Job description / Role

1. Provide project leadership and establish the execution framework to ensure the quality, value, timeliness and profitability of the Gas Turbine Power Plant Project (EPC bidding and execution stages) during the period from 2015 to 2019.
2. Ensure the project deliveries and full contractual requirements are included into EPC invitation to bid (ITB) and executed by the selected EPC contractor accordingly.
3. Control over the contractors personnel performance and productivity. Promote the No injury culture in the contractors workforce.

Functions:
- Plan and control the Project progress
- Ensures accurate, comprehensive and timely project reporting
- Develops clearly and implements the requirements of the Scope of Work
- Completes the project until hand over to Operations
- Closes all contractor actions
- Develops a complete understanding of the contract and any relevant subcontracts in order to provide full support to the project management team;
- Establishes and defines the project organisation, defining the project staffing requirements, coordinating staffing with supporting organisation managers;
- Ensures effective and timely coordination between design, procurement, material management, and construction for integration of technical content and schedule activities
- Ensures that all contractual and legal matters related to the project are dealt properly and promptly, seeking advice and guidance from higher Management as necessary
- Follow up the Contractor progress report and conduct weekly meetings and site visits.
- Emphasizes safety throughout all phases of the project.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Project Management qualification (desirable)
- More than 15 years of experience in combined cycle gas turbine power plant projects, out of which min 5 years as EPC Project Manager in the Power Generation Industry

Knowledge and Skills:
- Project Management in the Middle East (Iraq desirable)
- Multicultural exposure
- Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine equipment
- Communication with Contractors

Languages proficiency level:
- English (Advanced level)
- Arabic (Desirable)

- PC Software: Office, Primavera, understanding of SAP.

Specific requirements:
Energetic, outspoken, and proven track record of completed successful EPC Combined Cycle Power Plants projects. Committed to work at EPC Contractor Home Office and later relocate to site (West Qurna 2).
