Our client, an international multi-disciplinary consulting firm, seeks an experienced PM/Design Manager (Highways & Roads Specialist) to join their Doha office to work on some of the most prestigious and internationally recognised Highways projects within the region. This role is a vital and integral part of their Infrastructure Division in Qatar.
Reporting to the Project Director and acting as the client's representative, the proven performer we seek for this role will be responsible for:
• Managing the infrastructure/highways design element of projects and ensuring a high quality service is delivered
• Overseeing and monitoring the progress of all design development activities
• Coordinating between design and client groups
• Preparation of bids and pre-qualification materials
• Supervision and management of a team with regard to all aspects of Concept, Preliminary and Final Design stages
• Reviewing cost estimates, plans and reconciliation reports at every design stage
• Leading and participating in value engineering studies
• Facilitating user/designer communications and regular reporting to management and client
Requirements
The attributes we seek for this role include:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 20 years post graduate experience and a minimum of 10 years as a Chartered Engineer is essential.
• Must have significant experience in Project Management and delivery of Highway projects requiring interface and coordination between design and client groups.
• Must have a good understanding of regional design codes, specifications and contractual terms and conditions.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex analyses in various mediums such as detailed reports, presentations and calculations in a clear and meaningful manner.
• Previous experience gained within a Consultancy is desirable as is experience working in the GCC region.
• Major project experience essential (>USD100mill).
