Employment: Full Time

Project Manager - Joinery (Bahrain)

The essential skills required for this purpose are as follows:
1) Minimum of seven to ten years similar experience in a joinery manufacturing company as a project manager capable of effectively managing multiple projects from award of project and through the different stages of implementation to handover.
2) Suitable experience and understanding of all aspects of the joinery fabrication process, from site survey, to working with a setting out team on preparation of fabrication shop drawings and cutting lists, through to checking of material take offs , procurement , and understanding of manufacturing sequence etc .
3) Sound knowledge of fabrication procedures and a wide understanding of materials and how they work together such as timber species, boards, veneers, laminates and hardware are vital.
4) Very good technical and execution capabilities with ability to solve technical problems and details between different types of materials such as wood , glass , fabrics , metals , laminates etc.
5) Good understanding of ACAD and Microsoft Office.
6) Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a multinational environment in different geographic locations.
7) Would oversee communication with client or client reps and manage their cost, quality and delivery expectations in a satisfactory manner.
8) The individual would have to be a dependable individual with a high responsibility level, takes ownership of matters, has good planning & multitasking experience/capability, effective communicator and basically a flexible individual who can take decisions and make things happen in a large setup.
9) Expected to have experience & very familiar with scrutinizing and giving guidance to a setting out team on joinery shop drawings in order to ensure efficient manufacturing process, installation and client satisfaction .
10) Would be able to oversee consistent detailing practice where possible, good motivator and can provide the team good guidance on daily work flow in accordance with priorities, handover dates.

Requirements

- Coordinate between Projects Director &/or Projects team and setting out team to manage the
- Smooth flow of the project manufacturing process.

Activities (Not necessarily in given sequence)
1) Review project details and carry out brief for the setting out team (Project Kick Off).
2) Reviewing / managing and overseeing the Project Drawings Schedule.
3) Review and management of the Shop drawings preparation and submittal process as well as guide the setting out on joinery detailing.
4) Managing the flow of information from sites/clients to setting out, like material submittals approvals, site surveys, installation planning & coordination.
5) Lead and manage coordination with the production department and other areas of the company to ensure smooth flow of jobs, delivery and completion.
6) Cost sensitivity, checking materials allowed details and obtain clearance for variations.
7) Review specifications of project and obtain clearance for discrepancies between specs and estimated details.
8) Overseeing identification of project material requirement, taking into account stock levels and availability.
9) To ensure that material requisitions are placed in a timely manner so that all necessary materials arrive before production is commenced.
10) Maintain and develop library of standard construction details
11) Identification of RFIs and manages the process of getting the information to the setting out team.
12) Overseeing the sourcing of hardware accessories and optimizing where possible
13) Overseeing the timely project drawings approval process.
14) Providing guidance and managing the issuance to factory of cutting lists, loading lines.
15) Coordination with site team and setting out for getting timely site surveys or arranging alternative options for issuing the job if site surveys not possible such as over-sizing and following an agreed setting out plan (usually the case on fast track projects )
16) Effective Interpretation and understanding of contractual requirements and obligations.
17) Overseeing follow up and follow through of project related procurement.
18) Management of Reports and Preparation of Projects Status report
19) Forward planning schedules and forecasts for cutting lists issuance to manufacturing.
20) Managing clients/stakeholders expectations and maintain organized archives for post handover requests and maintenance
