The Role
We urgently require a number of Project Managers to work as a Clients Representative on Marine projects in the Middle East (MENA Region). Initially based in our UAE office but ultimately this will be a site based role.

We are currently supporting Oil & Gas clients on large scale projects, with expertise required in the discipline of piling, jetty, quay wall and port related construction.

The positions are full time, residency based, with single status offered.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs the duties of the Project Manager (Clients Representative) on site.
Management and direction of a team of Engineers and Inspectors.
Identifies the resource requirements for the effective supervision of the construction works, and manages the supervision team.
? Acts as prime point of contact for the construction supervision aspects of the project, including approves and monitors contractor's quality assurance and control, progress reporting, safety, financial recommendations, approved material submission and design modifications.
? Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractors.
? Places an emphasis on safe construction practices (Target Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction.
? Uses effective project management and controls systems to regularly report on progress to the management team.
? Monitors progress of construction against the programme, and takes steps to ensure the programme is achieved.
? Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for supervision works and monitors it for improvement..
? Ensures that all appropriate and relevant field records are maintained
? Negotiate cost variations, extensions of time
? Advise on potential claims and progress slippage
? Contributes to the safety and build-ability reviews of the proposed designs.
? Evaluates, selects, and adapts construction management and control techniques, procedures, and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered.
? Contract close out.

Requirements

Requirements:
Minimum 20 years large scale project experience in Marine/Civil Engineering.
Successful delivery of at least 2 major projects - value in excess of USD30m+ within the last 5 years ideally at least one in the Middle East.
Contracts (FIDIC) knowledge.
Knowledge of Primavera/MS Project Planning Software.
Degree in Civil Engineering or Similar.
