Job description / Role
POSITION OVERVIEW
Independently develops methods and solutions for O & M problems; selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the various. Working closely with the client team completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analysis within relating to the day to day operation of the STW. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices relating Waste Water Treatment. Some assignments involve Biowin / CAE/CAD (computer aided engineering/computer aided design) applications. Travel or relocation to supplier, client, or construction site locations may be required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Performance:
To meet client established KPI’s / performance criterion.
Assist the Operations and Project Managers in meeting company/project targets.
Contribute to meet project budgets and assist in project budget control.
Responsible for achieving the allocated budgets and schedules for the design engineering aspects of projects.
Project Execution:
Ensure technical reviews and compliance of engineering with Quality Management Systems to maintain and improve high quality deliverables to our clients.
Target meeting or exceeding client expectation.
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Prepares engineering reports with minimal supervision.
Completes a variety of assignments such as review of Contractor’s performance, mean and methods and other materials suitable for procurement and operational purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments (Internal / External).
Must be abler detailed specifications for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Personnel Recruitment and Development of Staff
Assist if requested in the training and development of junior personnel to strengthen our capability and make us more competitive in current and future markets.
DESIRED RESULTS
Provide high quality engineering/Management inputs to Operations & Maintenance of WWTP
Complete all assignments on schedule and within man-hours and cost budgets.
Increase internal/external client satisfaction.
Improve internal/external client communications.
Decrease client changes.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Civil (Water / Waste Water) Engineering from a Major University. Preferable PE, Chartered Engineer or equivalent status.
Overall 20 years postgraduate experience Water / WW experience (Design, Project Management and O & M of assets) out of which 10 years must be in O & M of WWTP. Must include periods with large consultancy practice.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and experience of working with international contract laws especially in Large Operation & Maintenance Contracts.
Qualified professional who has reached the Director level; capable of providing planning, leadership, direction and technical expertise to manage complex & multi-discipline tasks.
Highly experienced technical specialist who will provide expert advice on complex matters requiring international world class expertise. Must be recognized as an authority on the technical subject.
Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively
Working overseas or in the region essential.
Good spoken and written English is essential.
