Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

On behalf of the Program Manager, AECOM are currently seeking a Resident Engineer to support the Senior Resident Engineer in the delivery of a US$400m package as part of the overall delivery of New Port of Doha. This person will be an expert in Buildings Design and Construction with experience in directing a team of Assistant Resident Engineers and Inspectors to ensure all Contractor Works comply with the specifications, safety requirements and the program.

The candidate will be Managing the interfaces between contract packages, requiring is at least (12+ years) experience including Middle East projects.

Key Duties include:
Managing the Buildings aspects of the Package for the New Doha Port Project.
Liaising with the Client on a regular basis to address aspects of the Package Progress and address issues of safety/quality and Contractor performance.
Working with the Contracts Manager to ensure the compliance with the FIDIC based contract and report any non-conformance.
Taking an active role in Marine site investigation to review the works is in line with the approved design.
Preparing and transmitting all site directions and instructions working inside of the safety guidelines.
Liaising with relevant Project Leaders/Team Leaders ensuring all parties are kept informed of matters relating to the project.
Assisting in the final inspection of the work. Review the adequacy and accuracy of the punch lists. Monitor the final completion of the work. Assist in the handover of the completed facilities.
Attending weekly, monthly and other progress meetings held at the site. Review the Contractor's progress. Identify constraints and recommend corrective measures.

Requirements

Role Requirements / Experience:

The candidate will be Managing the interfaces between contract packages, requiring is at least (12+ years) experience including Middle East projects.

Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical Buildings/Infrastructure

This position requires a Construction/Engineering professional to have excellent working knowledge of industry practices/safety and Quality Management Systems. A high level of competency in engineering software is required.

Knowledge of Buildings and Middle East experience is essential.

Construction related Degree preferred.
