Job description / Role
• Reviewing project scope to ensure all aspects including environmental permits, health and safety, integration with existing services, standby facilities etc. have been considered.
• Reviewing project programs to ensure timely project delivery and to alert stakeholders of any concerns and delays and to recommend mitigation measures.
• Reviewing project designs and specifications
• Coordinating and managing the PMC, the Engineering Consultants, the Contractors, and all parties directly involved with the two projects.
• Holding daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with the PMC, EC, and the EPC Contractors to review progress and to report any concerns and to propose solutions to overcome such concerns.
• Submitting monthly written reports highlighting progress, financial status and any technical concerns.
• Controlling variations and changes to minimize impact on project completion
• Being actively involved in expediting progress at site including following up on procurement of M&E equipment, visiting vendor facilities, witnessing FATs, and approving MASs.
• Certifying payments after carefully checking work done is as per project requirements
• Reviews the Contractor’s record copy of drawings specifications, addenda, change orders and other modifications at intervals appropriate to the stage of construction and provides communication and documentation as to the results.
• Reviews the list of items to be completed or corrected with the Contractor and consultants for issuance of Certificate of Substantial Completion.
• Advocates on the part of the company during disputes, disagreements, modifications, or Change Orders.
Requirements
• Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline is required.
• A minimum of 12 years post graduate experience in the Water Industry is essential.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience gained with managing a Reverse Osmosis plant construction project of greater than 10MLD is required
• Computer efficiency in MS Projects, CAD, Primavera, etc.
• Ability to negotiate and advocate for the company.
• Member of an International Professional Water Organization such as IWEM would be advantageous.
