The RoleThe RoleThe requirement is for a Project Manager to set up and operate a heat remediation plant to treat oil-contaminated sand (approx 200,000t/year). The sand is contaminated with <5% oil and is heated in the plant to clean it so that it becomes completely decontaminated and can the returned to normal use. The oil is burnt or wasted. This position is an immediate requirement. |
RequirementsRequirementsIdeal candidate would have the following skills, but the appointment could be extended to a Project Manager with Mech Eng. experience in materials handling in natural resource extraction. • Project Manager – strong people management, budgeting & cost control, programming, commercial acumen, commitment to OHSE etc. • Degree qualified in Science (Environmental/Geology) or Engineering (Civil/Chemical). • 5+ years experience in contaminated site remediation in a contracting capacity. • 3+ years experience in thermal desorption treatment, preferably in the oil&gas industry. • Experience in the evaluation of contaminated materials, assessment & selection of appropriate treatment systems and management of treatment processes. |
