The RoleThe RoleProject Manger – Traffic and Transportation Abu Dhabi, UAE POSITION OVERVIEW: Provides direction and management for small to medium-sized projects and ensures on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations. The Project Manager is responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. May Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Typical projects range up to $30 million in total installed cost. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide the main point of contact for the Project Delivery Teams to receive instructions & queries from the Client. Lead the overall planning of the program and proactively monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate Define and ensure compliance with the program's governance arrangements Provide Quality Assurance and maintain the overall integrity of the program - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the program; and outwardly on its coherence with the Client's aspirations, specialist industry standards, developments on the ground & interfaces with other on-going initiatives Facilitate the appointment of individuals to the project delivery teams Assign responsibilities and direct personnel responsible for specific projects, functions or phases of the program. Coordinate and manage inter-dependencies between projects. Review & modify implementation methods as required to redirect activities and attain objectives. Plan and develop specific methods and procedures for implementing projects Manage risks to the program's successful outcome Initiate extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the program are identified or issues arise Report to the client on the progress of the program against objectives & KPI's - both on a periodic & as-needed basis - with recommendations Develop a program-wide communication plan with protocols applicable to individual projects. Support and represent the Client in managing and monitoring third-party contributions to the program (contractors, vendors, service-providers & all stake holders) Ensure compliance with internal project management, project execution, Quality Assurance and Health and Safety requirements. Assume responsibility for internal financial management and reporting. |
RequirementsRequirementsPREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have a BSc in traffic/transportation engineering or equivalent Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing public infrastructure initiatives Minimum of 5 years of government projects Prior expereince working in the UAE, interfacing with government ministries is preferred SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project. Fluent Arabic is preferred |
