Reporting to the General Manager, they are seeking a high-calibre Project Manager to take responsibility for nominated projects; starting from the tendering and even conceptual stage and managing through to completion. Marketing WCS in the after market, and developing revenue streams within this and allied fields.
The ideal candidate will provide management input to generate new opportunities, control existing projects, form a timeline, cost and quality perspective. You will ensure that reporting Project/Site Managers provide adequate reporting information to enable the GM to be accurately informed on progress, costing data and problems that may require his input.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop strategy to grow after market opportunities in client portfolio.
Prepare Terms of Reference defining the scope of services offered by WCS.
Develop work procedures and practices to differentiate from competition.
Supervise Inspection staff on site to ensure compliance with terms of reference.
Administer Inspection Contracts to successful completion.
Ensure that projects are completed within allocated budget, time and required quality.
Work closely with engineering staff to develop mutually beneficial business relationship.
Work closely with WCS General Manager to develop market outside clients group.
Ensure that the highest level of safety is applied in all WCS activities.
Implement and monitor a HSE compliance policy.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Project Management/Delivery Experience:- The individual we are looking for needs to have managed and delivered refurbishment projects on STS or RTG cranes. The refurbishment projects that will be managed in WCS vary from budgets of USD500k up to USD30 million. Therefore a solid background in managing and delivering refurbishment projects within budget and on time is a necessity.
Crane Manufacturing/Service experience:- The candidate is preferred to have a background of working with the crane manufacturing/refurbishment industry (STS or RTG) and working on delivering projects to clients.
Commercial Exposure: The candidate should have commercial experience in negotiating contracts. In addition he should have commercial marketing experience to sell the refurbishment business to customer.
Customer exposure: The candidate should have customer exposure in dealing and managing customer expectations throughout the refurbishment projects.
HNC In Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Very strong engineering knowledge.
Excellent knowledge and experience in the Mechanical Handling Industry (min. 12 years).
International business experience.
Experience and understanding of running a people oriented service business (min. 5 years).
Documentation and report writing.
Contract administration.
Excellent English Language skills.
Ability to deal with people at all levels.
Confidence and ability to take decisions
