Job description / Role
Our client are a leading Program Management company operating across a wide range of sectors including Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, Defense & Support Services and Power.
They are currently looking for a Project Manager to be based on a prestigious highway project in Doha, Qatar.
The Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager and will be responsible for the management of all aspects of delivering a project on a major programme of highway and infrastructure development works.
The key responsibilities of the Project Manager include:
- Managing the Construction Supervisor to facilitate delivery of construction, coordinating logistics, permitting, commissioning and handover activities to contractual technical, budget, schedule and quality requirements
- Interfacing with the Client, Construction Supervisor and company Controls and Commercial teams to ensure coordination and reporting is of a level that assists in the timely delivery of contract deliverables
- Monitoring works to confirm that they are being carried out in accordance with the Operations strategy, standards, policies, procedures and best practices
- Liaising with the Engineering Team to assist in the execution of design solutions that promote constructability and value engineering
- Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the construction supervisors and the contractors
- Obtaining the required support to assist in the timely payment of invoices and the resolution of variations and claims
Requirements
The Project Manager will have sound construction experience as a Project Manager during the execution of Civil and Infrastructure projects including road services, structures, bridges, underpasses, sewerage, underground HV power, ITS, lighting and water reticulation.
- A minimum of 20 years of post-graduate experience
- A Bachelors degree in related subject
- Chartered of Professional Engineer
- Experience in managing major highway projects in excess of $100 million / QR 400 million
- Experience using MS Office
- Previous experience in the Middle East is an advantage
- Fluent English both written and spoken (Arabic preferred but not essential)
