Location: Kurdistan/Iraq
Salary: up to $18K per month plus benefits

Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The construction project manager responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of project management, including - Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, and Safety Management.

The Project Manager will be responsible for charting out the project objectives and plans, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants. The PM shall optimize utilization of resources, materials and equipment, and ensuring their procurement at most cost-effective terms. Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the contract participants

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee the management of construction from project start to finish.
- Perform a key role in project planning review, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
- Create and nurture the team, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.
- Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
- Ensure that construction activities move according to approved schedule.
- Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.
- Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the Client, EPC Contractor, OE consultants, and sub-contractors as required.
- Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with the client.
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards.
- Periodic inspection of construction sites.
- Ensure project documents are complete.
- Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
- Serve as a key link with the clients and review the deliverable prepared by the team before passing onto client.

Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the power industry
- Four year college degree is required
- MUST have demonstrated experience managing new power plant construction and/or power plant projects
- Demonstrated experience managing project cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources, managing vendors, and overseeing formal planning, tracking, and reporting project performance
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or program management role
- Knowledge of local and international construction standards, Project Management Professional requirements and familiarity with internationally recognized Health Safety and Environmental hazards.
- Well versed in QA-QC standards, recording and reporting
