The Role


Job Purpose:
Project Manager responsible for heading up the Client’s site based supervision team on a new 212,000 m2 University Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsible for ensuring that the quality expectations, budget and programme constraints of the client are respected by the contractor.

Project Manager will be responsible for managing Senior Architectural, Structural, Civil, Landscaping and Building Services staff.

Key Responsibilities:
• Act as Project Manager for site based construction supervision team.
• Establish and maintain Project Organisation and Management Plan.
• Review, monitor and report on the Contractor’s construction schedule, procurement schedule, submittals (materials and drawings) schedules and Contractor’s Project Organisation Chart.
• Establish, maintain and review document control system for correspondence, submittals, Requests for Information, Inspection Requests, Site Instructions, Non conformance Reports, Method Statements, Change Orders, Subcontractor Prequalifications, etc.
• Implement, manage and control the Project Quality Assurance plan.
• Implement, manage and control the Project Health and Safety plan.
• Establish, maintain and review Monthly Project Cost Report.
• Prepare Monthly Project Report on construction progress, quality management, cost management, summary reports on the construction disciplines and identify all issues effecting progress and cost.
• Manage workload of site based discipline Architects, Engineers and Inspectors.
• Review and advise on the Contract Documents.
• Attend Project review meetings with the Client and the Contractor.
• Establish and review Project handing over procedures including Project acceptance, As-built drawings, Operation and Maintenance manuals, training of Client’s staff, maintenance agreements, spare parts, etc.
• Ensure senior management are kept informed of important decisions and that the objectives of the Client are achieved.
• Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, Standards and Codes of Practice etc.

Person Specification:

• Corporate membership of a relevant institution
• Good IT skills.
• Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients.
• Confident, proactive character, with a track record of taking the lead in challenging situations.
• Ability to run projects successfully.

Qualifications:
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer.
Or
• In special circumstances, six years relevant working experience with either a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Engineering (MEng) and working towards chartership.
• 15 years relevant experience
