Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Project Manager (PM) will have the responsibility for the overall delivery for very large port projects spread across the Kingdom. The PM will be leading the project and all its activities, from the pre-construction to the delivery of the project.

Responsibilities:
- Development and understanding of the project brief
- Procurement of design teams and /or other consultants
- All stages of design development
- Pre-construction planning, and development of a delivery strategy
- Preparation of design and EPC tender document
- Regular communication and liaising with government agencies
- Development of the cost plan and reviews of this at relevant design phases against the project budget
- Active Value and Risk management of the project
- Reporting line would be to the UAE office and the Government offices in KSA

Health and Safety Objectives:
- Assist in developing workplace safety procedures.
- Promote workplace safety standards and procedures.
- Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents.
- Participate in workplace safety inspections.
- Assist the safety team in achieving high standards of workplace safety.
- Assist the HSS team in carrying out safety audits.
- Continuously promote and influence a positive safety culture.
- Review and endorse safety procedures and standards.

Technical Skills:
- Produce, review and implement employer requirement documents.
- Act as technical advisor to the client.
- Have excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules.
- Comprehend, analyse and assess budgets and cost plans, consultant and contractor applications, and the change/variation process.
- Initiate and support the technical capabilities of the team.
- Challenge and seek to improve the project deliverables.
- Drive innovation and better ways of working.
- Initiate and drive value management and value engineering.

Requirements

- Degree qualified; preferably in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 15 years experience with proven experience in infrastructure (ideally in marine projects within the GCC)
- Willing to travel to Eastern and Western Provinces
- Technical Capability & Delivery
- Overseeing of, and collaboration with, all project management teams
- Good technical writing ability
- Knowledge of recognised project control principles (procurement, earned value measurement, risk management, contract admin and claims resolution, change control)
- Knowledge of the principal major forms of contract
