Job description / Role
An opportunity has arisen for this global leader in the provision of Systems Integration, Managed Solutions and Consultancy & Training services
The Project Planner is responsible for all facets of project scheduling including full commercial and contractual management and control on behalf of the Project Manager. The project planner will provide a detailed master plan on how a project will be executed including mobilization, procurement, engineering, implementation, training and financial milestones.
The project planner will also provide detailed scheduling for tendering and bid process working with Engineering and the Bid Managers to ensure we have the ability to deliver what has been designed with the planned resource allocation.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning and project controls of all on-going and incoming integration projects, reporting to the Delivery Director
- Create baseline schedules using CPM, discuss them with the PMs and have them approved by the customer/s
- Review projects contracts to ensure all information involving planning and project controls are captured to the programme and schedules and the monitoring sheets
- Set-up progress measurement systems for all awarded projects, update and maintain
- Monitor and control all current projects risks, schedules and costs to ensure gross margins and completion targets dates are achieved
- Record delays in coordination with the PMs and document them for future references on the extension of time claims
- Provide support in preparing invoices for all projects in reference to the monitoring forms and in coordination with the project managers and the rest of the projects team
- Attend all necessary client and internal progress and planning meetings both in and out of the country
- Prepare a weekly and monthly report which captures the current status of the projects in terms schedule, costs, risks & risk mitigations and successes
- Conduct weekly meetings to various project managers to discuss the status of all outstanding project issues and concerns and how they will affect the schedule, cost and quality of the project.
- Provide support to the Operations and Maintenance team with regards to preventive maintenance and resource planning
- Provide support to the bids team by preparing proposed schedules, project execution plans/narratives, manpower histograms, S-curves and cash flow diagrams
Requirements
- Preferable technical / product knowledge of all types of security systems and solutions or MEP
- 5+ years experience within the construction industry, preferably a security supplier
- Experience and capability to manage projects with values exceeding >$10 million
- Experience of working in the GCC region is preferable
- You should have demonstrated the ability to independently take the appropriate actions and correct decisions when faced with significant issues.
- Electronics / Electrical / Engineering / Security &/or IT qualifications preferred
- Primavera 6 qualification and practiced for 3+ years
- Understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM)
- PMP or Prince certification is not essential but an advantage
- Proven track record of project planning & delivery of technology-led solutions
- Commercial and Contractual understanding
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in hostile countries due to location of specific projects.
- Place of work will be Dubai, however travel will be required
- Must be fluent in English (speak/read/write).
