The RoleThe RoleThe Purpose of this role is: To provide a professional project planning service to DANS programme delivery department. To provide a key contribution to the development and implementation of best practice project planning processes and procedures in accordance with the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) improvement approach. Duties & Responsibilities: •Accountable for facilitating project teams to develop and deliver project schedules and associated data. •Accountable for playing a key role in the development and implementation of planning improvements to increase DANS project delivery capability. •Accountable for managing the accuracy of data within project plans and associated documentation. •Accountable for the development and production of planning related project reports & metrics. •Accountable for the provision of project resource management. •Accountable for advising and coaching of best planning practice to Programme Delivery colleagues and other groups/functions within the organisation. •Support the PMO Manager to develop, manage and report DANS integrated programme schedule. •Development & management of DANS project plans, capturing the entire project lifecycle. •Support to the development and management of DANS Integrated Programme Plan. •Provide planning expertise in support of the development of Programme Delivery procedures and work instructions. •Develop project work breakdown structures and associated work packages. •Capture manpower estimates and all project dependencies & constraints and integrate these into the project schedules. •Present project planning status and recommendations at project reviews and progress meetings. •Develop and deliver standard planning related project reports and metrics. •Liaise with all project stakeholders to determine project status and update plans in accordance with DANS processes. •Liaise with staff across all functions/groups within the organisation who are assigned as work package and/or resource managers for the delivery of DANS projects. •Management of manpower resource estimating and associated costs of DANS projects. |
RequirementsRequirementsKnowledge: •Degree educated or equivalent level of relevant training and/or experience. •Must possess extensive knowledge & experience of managing project planning processes within a multi-disciplined ATM project delivery environment. •Specialist in the development and implementation of best practise project planning techniques e.g. deliverable based work breakdown structures and associated work package management. •Project Management methodology training in accordance with department and company ongoing development. Skills: •Competent IT skills in MS Office applications. •Expert skills in the use of project planning tools, e.g. Microsoft Project •Must be a highly effective communicator across all levels of the organisation. •Ability to develop and deliver standardised project reports and metrics Experience: •At least 3 years of relevant experience. •Experience in organising project teams to develop and deliver project plans using best planning practice •Experience of working in a Programme Management Office (PMO) Prince2 or equivalent environment to at least CMMI level 2.0 standards. |
