Project Planning & Scheduler - Major Airport Terminal Build

We have been appointed to recruit the Site Supervision team for a Major Regional Airport Expansion Project.

At the moment the project in confidential until we have the mobilization dates and manpower program in place.

The first draft of appointments will be from December 14th 2014.
As such we are looking to appoint a number of disciplines to the scheme to act as the Lead Site team for the Engineers and designers and represent the client in the delivery of the project.

The project is a New Build and Extension Terminal Building to allow for increased passenger capacity.

Project Planning & Scheduler
Field Engineering Office, Sub-Contracting, Cost Control, Contract Administration, Stores and Materials.

This entails the following:
* Preparation and updating programs and schedules in accordance with drawings and contract obligations. These indicate the planned and actual progress of each separately identified aspects of the project.
* Provision a monthly and up-to-date compilation of all expenditures on the project as compared to the budget.
* Studies of actual performance data to determine:
(i) Any variation from the contract programme so that remedial action can be taken at the earliest opportunity.
(ii) Any variances from the budget and their effect on the final costs forecast.
(iii) Information concerning unit cost experience on the various phases of the contract, as a potential reference material for future estimates.
* Project reporting procedures to best suit the needs of the project provided that the overall results fit into the group wide established system.
* Assisting in developing fully detailed method statements, proposing amendments and/or alternatives as considered advantageous to meet or improve on time and cost targets.
* Instructing and advising site staff in the compilation of data required to be provided by them.
* Negotiating sub-contracts and, as delegated by the Project Manager, finalizes agreements.
* Where necessary draws up daily programs showing hourly utilization for main items of plant (i.e. cranes, excavators, etc.).
* Preparing programmes as required prior to the letting of Sub-contracts to arrange continuity of work for the Sub-contractor with the least cost to the project. Issues necessary programmes to Sub-contractors on site and checks to ensure that their activities are kept in line with contract requirements.
* Preparing and updating labour resource programs showing the work force required for each direct trade, and for major Sub-contractors when applicable.
* Monitoring all change orders to the Contract to make certain that all additions and deletions are planned for the time required by the Client. Recommends budget revisions caused by change orders whenever warranted.
* Managing of the Stores and monitoring the materials inflow and outflow.
* Managing the Site Engineering Office, where all the Engineering and relevant technical data is processed, analyzed and put into effect and construction.
* Attending all project meetings concerned with his area of activity.

Requirements

An academic degree in either Civil/Structural, Engineering, Building Technology or Architecture and/or a recognised professional qualification.
Major Airport Terminal Build Planning and Scheduling Experience is Required

Over 15 years, documented Construction and Project Planning experience with P6/7 in a variety of major Civil Engineering or Buildings projects involving in-depth knowledge of a multi-discipline environment.

High level of analytical skills. Excellent organizational/administration skills. Good understanding of the Management structure and mode of operation.
