The RoleThe RoleRole Overview The role is HQ based with periodical visits to the projects sites, reporting the project planning system to the CEO/COO and coordinate with individual projects managers/directors. Establishing PCS • Direct and overall responsibility for the development, review; upgrade and implementation of the Projects Control System and integration with the administrative and operational procedures of the Company. • Develop policies and procedures to improve the adequacy and efficiency of the planning and Projects Control activities. • Obtain the necessary project control resources (personnel, procedures and software tools) to plan and execute work. • Makes suggestions, give input to improve existing methods, systems and procedures. • Review the development of projects information and fact sheets and graphical presentation materials. Managing PCS • Direct responsibility for the development of the master and baseline schedule, cash flow schedules and project budget for the newly awarded projects in coordination with assigned project manager/director and in particular the development of critical milestone schedules. • Analyze, propose, identify and define logical project breakdown and draft global planning for projects. • Early identification of extra-ordinary contract requirements related to planning and (potential) planning conflicts. • Assign site based project control engineer/planner for the newly awarded projects. • Direct responsibility for reviewing of the monthly narrative, cost, schedule and financial reports, submitted by the site planners. • Oversee, review and transmit regular progress reports of each project submitted by the site planner, reviewed and observed through sites visits. • Oversee and review financial and cost reporting forms, development and specific formats for design and construction monitoring purposes including planned versus actual projections and indicated outcome reports. • Provides complex analysis to determine impacts on the project schedules and budgets, including financial and cash flow analysis. • Provides support in reconciliation of impacts of proposed changes of scope, schedule and cost. • Collect data on progress from site planner, review progress against planning, identify planning bottlenecks and (potential) delays as well as potential time-saving measures. • Check and monitor detailed schedules, analyze man power and advice on timing of requisitions, ensure interfaces with internal and external parties to address and resolve potential issues. • Provides project management recommendation on factors affecting the timely completion of projects. • Performs special analysis for resource loading and performance progress. • Develops and maintains status reports including: labour productivity, schedule status, financial analysis, Cost Performance Reports and earned value curves reports. • Frequent communication with client and company Project Director. |
RequirementsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Minimum of 20 years experience with contractors Primavera Enterprise Systems (P6); Civil construction background with contractor Have worked as a Planning Manager on multiple prestigious and complex projects Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English Experience working a large construction projects is required. A 'hands-on' approach and ability to manage a team of planners. Must be Familiar with Earned Value Analysis. Excellent knowledge of relevant planning methods and other relevant software. Excellent analytical skills. |
