Job description / Role
International Structural Steel Contractor & Manufacturer is looking to appoint a Projects Director / Operations Manager.
This business is seen as a top global player within the Steel Sector. They have a formidable reputation for delivery world class projects and firsts within the Steel Sector. They have delivered and worked with some top class clients in Geographical areas such as Asia, Europe, GCC & Africa.
This role is to be based in the UAE Full time. Managing everything within the GCC reporting into a Operations Director & MD based in both Europe & UAE.
There will be travel required to visit clients, facilities and ongoing projects. Fair to say that 70-75% of your time will be spent within the GCC with business travel required.

They want to see a minimum of 15 Years within the Structural Steel Sector. Your career history will clearly show the following forms of construction related to structural steel.
Stadia / Stadiums - Examples Emirates Stadium, Wembley, Olympics
Airports - Heathrow Terminal 5, Dubai Int Airport
High Rise - Burj Khalifa, Shard, Canary Wharf
Offshore - Marine type projects, bridges or Oil & Gas
The business currently has 11 live Projects with a Project Manager based on each site. This role is to manage every aspect of the Project Management of each Contract / Project. You will be responsible for everything from Delivery, Commercial - Contractual awareness on site, HSE, Quality, Man Management, Program, Liaison with Client, Consultant, Suppliers or Main Contractor.
You will be looking to commit a minimum of 5 Years to the region. This is a strategic role for the business and its essential they get someone with not just the right technical skills and ability but someone that has a can do positive attitude.
Requirements
Our client is looking to recruit someone that ideally has some form of International Experience for a Structural Steel business in either a capacity of Project Director having delivered complex mammoth jobs ranging from 15,000-25,000 Tonnes of Steel or as a Contracts / Operations role where you have managed multiple projects.
You will be of a proactive nature and have a clear track record within this sector. Your communication skills will be of the highest order enabling you to influence and manage a multinational team as well as a range of foreign clients.
Your project management skills will enable you to roll your sleeves up when required out on site and push for progress. Through a history of Steel expertise you will be able to see potential risks and contractual pit falls before they occur. You will be fully competent on all the latest software relating to construction in this role.
The software packages / experience needed could range from P3/P5P6 - Primavera, Word, Excel, Power point.
