Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Company
Our client is a developer based in Dubai. They are looking for Property/ Real Estate Lawyer to join their expanding team to cover real estate development in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi.

The Role
The responsibilities of the role are as follows:

• Contract drafting and negotiation with third parties, typically involving engagement letters, contracts,
NDAs, etc, but also occasionally in the context of more complex matters such as LOIs, RFP, JVAs
and ancillary for potential real estate projects;
• Coordination of legal aspects of deals handled within the real estate team;
• Oversight of external counsel as necessary; and
• From time to time may assist in the leasing program.
• Drafting a wide range of agreements (e.g., Sale and Purchase Agreements);
• Structuring homeowner associations and drafting all required documents;
• Supervision/legal support for all buyer related issues including issuance of new sale and purchase
agreements, transfers between buyers, handover of units and title registration
• Negotiating with Master Developers
• Providing legal opinions (formal or informal) on a wide range of property, development and some
construction matters
• Interfacing with other departments, senior management, buyers, business partners and external
counsel
• Acting as the dedicated legal contact on one or more projects;
• Oversight of legal support staff

Requirements

Skills:

• Strong drafting skills are a must.
• Exposure to property structuring and drafting of homeowner association documents from a
condominium/strata jurisdiction (Aus, Canada, US, South Africa or New Zealand) preferred.
• Exposure to conveyancing (property transactions), either commercial or residential, is an asset.

Attributes:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent English is an absolute minimum, Arabic is a strong plus.
• Positive and proactive personality. Able to get on well with others in a fast paced Multi cultural
environment
• Customer focused (both in terms of our buyers and internal departments).
• Able to function well under pressure and handle deadlines.

Candidate Requirements:

• The candidate must have corporate and real estate development experience in the UAE and will
ideally have obtained this experience in either a leading real estate development company or
through private practice.
• The candidate must have at least 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate / real estate
work.
• Strong academic background from a leading university or law school.
