Proposal Engineer

Job description / Role

The position will be either in Bahrain or in Saudi Arabia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare technical and commercial proposals that meet customer needs through interpretation of the requirements and technical specifications,
- Formulating questions and formatting a solution to be presented to the customer.
- Interact with the proposal coordinator and sales engineers to formulate strategies and solutions consistent with client requirements, needs, and constraints.
- Contribute to the achievement of monthly/annual sales forecasts, through support for negotiations with clients and participation in sales meetings.
Assist in the analysis of business opportunities for the company by assessing the possibility of creating the solution and meeting the customer's needs.
- Improve technical knowledge in SEL products and services, through readings and studies in the area.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the proposal development process by identifying and improving the internal procedures and activities.
- Assist sales engineers in attaining orders, through conducting follow-ups and monitoring proposals to clients.
- Continuously identify, measure and improve area processes
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

B.S. in Electrical Engineering/Automation
- Minimum 6 years experience proposals for products or protection and control systems
-Preferences for those who have experience in HV applications
- Working knowledge of technical solutions for protection and control applications in power plants and substations
- Willing to travel frequently
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of taxes in the GCC
- Strong experience in pricing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
