Proposals & Estimating Manager

Kentz, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, is a global engineering specialist solutions provider, with 15,500 employees operating in 36 countries worldwide. We have provided Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, Construction, and Technical Support Services (TSS) to clients in the energy and resources sectors for more than 90 years.

We are currently hiring a Proposals & Estimating Manger with a Mechanical background for our Operations in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:
- Check enquiries to ensure that adequate information is available to enable an accurate estimate to be made.
- Define strategy for completing the proposal and estimate and set a time schedule to ensure timeous completion of same.
- Work closely as part of a team with both colleagues within the department and the construction team.
- Establish and maintain good relations with clients, prospective clients, consultants and all others in a position to affect company fortunes.
- Keep updated on current and future work in the market place through contacts in the industry and industrial journals.
- Strive towards winning more orders at the right price.
- Assist in making the Proposals Department as streamlined as possible.
- Ensure all company procedures with respect to estimating and procurement are adhered to.
- Ensure that detailed spreadsheets are completed and that an accurate bid analysis is carried out on all quotations received.
- Review of tender competitors.
- Negotiations with vendors/sub-contractors.

Requirements

Education and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Mechanical)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managing and estimating department
- 15 years related work experience construction / execution, and estimation
- Good interdisciplinary knowledge
- Company procedure and policies
- Legal and technical understanding
- Local / international codes and regulations
- Analytical skills
- Good skills in MS office specifically excel
