Public Health and Fire Protection Engineer

Job description / Role

Over the last 3 years we have successfully built up our Rail, Metro and LRT work in Qatar. We have been working on multiple projects here since 2009 and are now committing to work until 2019 which are expecting to extend until 2022. We now have a need to strengthen our local Qatar rail and metro team to meet these project requirements. We are currently looking for a Senior Public Health and Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our team in Qatar.

Responsibilities

Public health building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision.
Fire protection building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision.
Carrying out design calculations on a variety of buildings within the transportation sector covering rail systems and ground transportation.
Preparing technical specifications.
Sprinkler designs.
Conversant with inert gas suppression system calculations and software.
Fire suppression design systems.
Supervising the team to obtain preparation of BIM/CAD models and drawings.
Supervising the work of junior engineers.
Representing Atkins at meetings with clients and contractors.
Review and advise on surveys that may be necessary.
Liaise with all Statutory Authorities as may be necessary to obtain necessary approvals and certification.
Report writing
Maintaining records and archives to company standards.
Manage own workload.
Monitor site works.

Requirements

Requirements

HNC or degree qualified with IEng or CEng potential
Around 5 years similar experience working in a design consultancy - some experience of working within a contractor environment is welcome.
Good level of computer literacy in Windows, and Microsoft office packages.
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Good report writing skills.
Able to make presentations to clients.
Represent company at meetings with clients.
