Job description / Role
Objective:
Oversees and processes the procurement, or purchasing cycle of technical goods and services.
Main Responsibilities:
1) Engaged in contract negotiation, sourcing & procuring of various materials and services in regards to electrical, mechanical and project related inquiries.
2) Responsible for supporting initiatives driving results measured by lower material costs, more responsive supplier performance, process and service improvements, and productivity throughout the Supply Chain
3) Responsible for supporting the distribution & operation teams with a sound and accurate purchasing schedule on a regular basis.
4) Obtains requirements from the end user departments by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders to specific suppliers; verifies receipt of items; authorizes payments. Vendor development & updates
5) Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requesting department
6) Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipment errors with suppliers
7) Sourcing for alternative suppliers both locally & internationally.
Requirements
1) Education:
- University Graduate (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree - preferably)
2) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Fluent in English communication
- Ability to read Electrical / Mechanical drawings
- Computer literate (MS Office, ERP, ...)
- Technical skills and knowledge
- Negotiation skills
- Vendor Relationship record
- Customer service oriented
3) Experience:
- 3 years as minimum in similar role
