The RoleThe RoleBasic Functions: Expediters maintain a record of the outstanding purchase orders and they contact vendors through telephone calls, by email and in person. Vendors relay information regarding delays in shipments, which the expediter works to resolve. The expediting also monitors shipments to ensure that purchase order information matches the shipment. This can include the quantity and quality of materials. The expediter resolves inconsistencies in the order. Work Performed: a) Plan and follow up delivery with vendor to ensure material and equipment are arrived timely with minimize discrepancy and damages and in accordance our standard quality ordered. b) Assess into details monitoring and ensuring vendors comply with P.O. delivery terms and conditions to avoid any delay in delivery. c) Act as focal point of coordination with material sourcing staffs, end-users to clear pending materials receipt from vendors d) Initiate progress meeting with vendors as and when required to update or discuss on the delivery progress. e) Prepare expediting reports on regular basis to update P.O. delivery status and support company needs. f) Coordinate vendors to provide us for track performance of P.O. from manufacturing to delivery of materials and equipments. g) Coordinate logistics with appointed contracting companies to ensure delivery as per agreed schedule. h) Maintain good relationships with vendor & subcontractors to get solid support on deliverable (both long-lead as well as short-lead items). i) Work in line with purchasing procedure according to the pre-qualification of suppliers j) Coordinate with warehouse regarding the delivery of material and stock items. k) Coordinates invoices problems with vendor and accounting; resolves delivery requirements with vendor and supervision. l) Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction. |
RequirementsRequirementsa) Completion of 4-years technical or business degree or equivalent combination of education and procurement experience. b) Minimum three years construction purchasing experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills essentials. c) Good knowledge of English. |
