This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding business within its food division as a Purchasing Manager. Based in Dubai you will oversee the purchase of a wide variety of food products for this diverse restaurant group.

Our client has a number of interests across the Middle East and this opportunity as Purchasing Manager sits within its successful food division. As Purchasing Manager you will be directly responsible for sourcing all food products that appear on the menu of each of the groups restaurants. This part of the business has ambitious expansion plans, with a large number of new restaurants to be opened over the next five years. This will mean a rapid growth in the size of the budgeted spend across the food division under the Purchasing Managers control. As the business develops there will be room for career progression as the purchasing team grows.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain the responsibilities for the Purchasing Manager include:

Strategic sourcing of a wide variety of food products
Periodical reviews of existing suppliers, proactively exploring new vendors
Negotiating with suppliers to minimize cost of raw materials
Manage the departments controllable expenses
Regularly review department costs to maximise budgets
Maintain efficient records and documentation to track purchasing activity
Work with the Head of Supply Chain to set annual budgets
Manage employee relations and follow appraisal procedures for team members

Requirements

The successful candidate for this role will come from a supply chain background with a significant time being spent in food purchasing. They will have the ability to think quickly and develop strategic purchasing plans with knowledge of cost analysis, tender processes and contractual issues. Preferably with multi-brand/market experience purchasing across a large number of SKU’s this person will understand issues around food quality and distribution.
