Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This role has strategic procurement responsibility for all spend in the NSC. The position will report via a matrix management structure with accountability to both UK based management as well as the NSC Finance Director. You will be expected to build strong effective relationships, with both internal stakeholders and suppliers, across the NSC region to ensure that purchasing strategy is developed and deployed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in establishing a local purchasing function within the NSC.
- Deliver value added commercial savings in line with set annual targets for the Region.
- Develop and implement robust purchasing procedures, which are aligned with central NPP best practice, and ensure that these procedures are audit compliant and adhered to.
- Take responsibility for managing the supplier relationship and performance including monitoring of adherence to key KPI's and contract management.
- Work closely with UK based NPP and other locally deployed purchasing teams to ensure global collaboration and the effective deployment of global contracts and sourcing strategies.
- Take ultimate responsibility for developing local purchasing strategies and lead sourcing decisions to deliver Value for Money to the NSC and ensure the reputation of purchasing is high.
- Build and maintain exceptional relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Conduct market analysis assessments whilst exploring and validating future sourcing opportunities for the NSC.
- Develop a robust understanding of the SAP purchasing process and, working with local stakeholders, act as the key focal point.

Requirements

- Broad purchasing experience essential with a background in marketing procurement an advantage.
- Experience of managing a team with strong leadership and influencing skills (experience in establishing a new team would be an advantage).
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience.
- Strong market knowledge within the NSC region and international experience within a purchasing context.
- Experience of leading complex negotiations and proven track record of delivering successful commercial outcomes.
- Ability to work cross functionally and manage the expectations and requirements of both a diverse range of local stakeholders and UK based NPP management team.
- Ability to successfully deploy global contracts and purchasing strategies in spite of local nuances.
- Strong track record in developing and implementing purchasing processes.
- Able to manage and execute complex projects on time and in budget.
- Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding and experience in using SAP is desirable.
- Degree required.
