Gates Engineering & Services
The main purpose of the role is to systematically plan, organize the procurements for the Group, and support Gates E & S branch offices in their buying requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Procuring all materials necessary to support the manufacturing schedule on a timely basis.
Process RFQ and RFP for all material requirements from approved vendors list.
Liaise with Vendor management team to identify high-margin opportunities for additional product offerings through market research and networking with customers, vendors, and the academic community.
Coordinate with suppliers and logistics dept for time receipt of goods.
Liaise with Vendor management dept in buying/sourcing materials from appropriate suppliers cost effectively.
Cost savings report to be submitted to vendor management team end of every month.
Support the Vendor Management department in identifying appropriate vendors.
Selecting procurement sources based upon analysis, increase internal controls, and improve the overall effectiveness of the procurement functions within the required time, budget and quality standards.
Maintenance of all documents and records of all dealings pertaining to purchase.
Maintenance of effective communication with management, suppliers and other related agencies.
Establish and maintain relationships with product suppliers and agencies.
Report and document the activities carried out in line with the documentation requirements of the company.
Follow necessary safety regulations, applicable work instructions, operating procedures, method statements, etc.
Report all incidents, accidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions and acts to the Supervisors/Safety Officer.
Comply with all occupational health, safety and environmental procedures of both the company and of client while working.
Provide on-the-job training to new & existing department staff members.
In addition, shall also support the activities of the other units whenever requested.
Other duties associated with successful development of the unit.
Education & Certificates
Technical or Graduate in any discipline
3 – 10 years, Engineering Items Purchasing
To be successful in the role, the employee should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
Extensive knowledge of engineering products and brands.
Exposed to local and international markets.
Knowledge of techno-commercial, INCO terms and agreements/contracts.
Conversant with various purchasing, import export documentation and procedures.
Strong Sourcing and computer skills.
Working under Pressure.
Effective Negotiation skills.
Ability to understand the business and knowledge of local laws on goods transportation.
Commitment to continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE).
