QA & Systems Manager

Job description / Role

We are working with a global construction and engineering organisation who have extensive operations across the Far East. With the anticipated extra workload that they are expecting over the coming 12 months, they are now looking to bolster their Mongolian regional office team with the recruitment of an office based QA & Systems Manager based in the capital Ulaan Baatar.

The QA & Systems Manager will take the full responsibility for the effective implementation of all quality management systems, policies and procedures, with the overall objective of ensuring high quality project delivery, productive work planning, quality results and ultimately the consistent overall satisfaction of our client's client.

As our client is a leading international organisation, they are able to offer long term career progression and also long term career stability. They are able to offer a superb basic salary, as well as accommodation allowance, use of a car & driver, and other benefits package which also takes advantage of low Mongolian income tax rate of approximately 10%. This is a residential position in a stable urban environment and is not a rotational role. Standard company annual holiday is on offer and the location is suitable for accompanied status, but there is no international schooling available.

Mongolia is a hospitable country with an incredibly friendly and open people, but of course it has an extreme climate, ranging from incredibly cold in the winter to hot and dry in the summer.

Requirements

Key requirements for candidates to be considered are as follows:
* Technically qualified in an engineering discipline - ideally civil engineering
* Relevant up to date qualifications in QA
* Minimum 15 years relevant experience in a senior QA position with a high calibre, internationally recognised civil engineering main contracting organisation. Candidates from a consultancy background will not be considered.
* Stable career history with proven career progression from through to QA Manager. Our client will not consider candidates who are from a freelance background or who have changed companies regularly.
* Experienced in controlling Quality Assurance on large civil projects - It is anticipated that the experience will include projects valued in excess of US$200 million.
* Proven experience on Systems implementation and management.
* Proven experience in the successful completion of a project from inception to final handover
* Experience of working on projects in a challenging remote location.
* Strong leadership skills, mature and able to work independently
* Culturally aware and sensitive
* Good command of written and spoken English - due to the specifics of this role, only candidate who speak 100% fluent English will be considered for this role. It is anticipated that English will be your mother tongue.
