The Role


The Tank Inspector will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the modifications to the existing Ground Storage Tanks (GSTs) constructed between 2006 and 2009. The Tank Inspector will report to the Resident Engineer in Bahrain.

Single status inclusive package paid in Bahraini Dinar (salary inclusive of accommodation and other subsistence expenses in Bahrain). Flights, personal insurances (medical, personal accident) will be provided in accordance with Bahraini labour law.
Saloon car or suitable car allowance will be provided. Business fuels costs will be reimbursed.
The working week is 48 hours, six days per week.

Scope of Work:
The work includes the modification of eight existing steel GSTs which are currently in service and used for the storage of potable grade water. Each tank has a bottom entry inlet arrangement with an inlet surge tower located inside the tank. This arrangement is to be modified by providing an external top entry inlet and internal plunge pool. The existing surge tower will be removed and the redundant bottom entry nozzle will be closed with a blank flange.
Following the completion of the modification works the internal and external coatings will be repaired and made good.
Commissioning will involve the hydraulic testing and disinfection of the tanks prior to being returned to service.
Anticipated Construction Programme: 12 months commencing in August 2012
Location of Site
The GSTs are located in the city and vicinity of Manama, Bahrain.

Requirements


Requirements


*10 years experience in welding and mechanical QA/QC inspection and supervision with specific experience in the construction of site built, above ground, welded, cylindrical steel storage tanks to BS EN 14015:2004 up to 20 MG capacity;
*Experience in the application and inspection of surface protective treatments and linings to welded steel storage tanks or similar structures;
*Relevant technical qualifications in welding, coatings and NDT inspection techniques;
*Middle East experience with valid GCC or Bahraini driving licence;
*Fluency in English language;
*Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel) software.
